My second trip with this author. I was looking forward to it. I used to holiday in Wales with my sisters and parents so the place names take me back to happy days filled with sunshine. Although Karenne Griffin is no spring chicken (I'm not either), her style of writing is uncomplicated and full of fun As I read, I want to be there on the bus, in the pub, sitting at a table in the (numerous) cafes, eating cake and sipping tea. There is something comforting in the observations she makes about ordinary people and places - choosing a new blouse, picking up a bargain tablecloth. Who knew that reading about Karenne giggling with a friend on a few days away could be so delightful? My only criticism is that the adventures are too short. I suppose I'll just have to wait for the next bus to come along.Product details
