The Narrative of William W Brown a Fugitive Slave edition by William Wells Brown Literature Fiction eBooks
Brown's story of live as a slave belies all the claims that prior to the Civil War, nothing was amiss in America. Those enslaved were truly made miserable by this inhumane tradition, if you will. Particularly telling is the hypocrisy among so-called good men and women, including ministers, who had no compunction about mistreating slaves. Some of the descriptions will remain with me for the rest of my life. I'm glad I finally got to read this account, although I have to say I wish none of it had ever occurred.Product details

The Narrative of William W Brown a Fugitive Slave edition by William Wells Brown Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
Great book I love these type of books they are so informative! Great read for anyone who loves history! Love it!
This was a very good book, very intuitive to see how inhumane some people were towards others. I would advise this book to be read by many to somewhat understand the basics of being a slave. I will be reading more of your books and telling others about this author. Thank you!!
This is a short, easy read about an escaped slave from St. Louis, MO. William Wells Brown's story is one of courage, suffering, and finally freedom.
I enjoyed reading some of the history as developed in his books
Though less popular than the narratives of Frederick Douglas, William W. Brown delivered a narrative that cut straight to the bone with its realism and uncouth presentation of slavery as he experienced it. This is a must read for anyone who wishes to gain knowledge of slavery by reading first hand accounts.

Overall it is a good book. It is a testament to the strength of the human spirit that he survived. It is additionally great that he helped other slaves become free once he gained freedom. Good book for gaining a better understanding of what these poor people endured.
